Love Me Tender is a dark comedy about seemingly innocent Emma Blake who is hoping to find true love at her university. But whenever a potential boy disappoints her- she kills him.
Cute, shy, and unassuming, Emma is looking for love. Like her roommate Liz, most students are more concerned with finding “Mr. Right Now” rather than “Mr. Right,” but Emma is obsessed with finding the kind of pure, idyllic love often found in fairy tales, Shakespeare, and classic films. A new boy, Ben, might just turn out to be her knight in shining armor, but little does Ben know that a deep-seated madness emerges within Emma whenever her expectations aren‘t met...
Think (500) Days of Summer with a dash of Psycho. This dark comedy incorporates the heart of a love story, the humor of a teen comedy, and a good dose of tongue-in-cheek serial-killer suspense. Love Me Tender is a uniquely original, high concept cinematic experience that is both entertaining and fulfilling for fans of all genres. But despite the black humor and Emma‘s penchant for violence, there is a sentimental and intelligent message that grounds this film. While clearly an exaggerated story, the story is ultimately about a girl whose notions of romance and love do not exist in her world. Is Emma right for expecting every boy to be a perfect gentleman? Does the kind of romance shown in Gone With the Wind and Casablanca truly exist? Emma‘s struggle with the fantasies and realities of love is something we all face.

I liked it. A lot of short films fail to draw you in due to the time limits. You become emotionally involved pretty quickly and it has a solid story line. It has some funny moments too. Hopefully theyll make a feature film out of it. About 20 min. long, worth the 2 bucks.
This looks like it could be the future of independent film distribution! A film in an app! Bonus features! Web links! The potential that I see here has me really excited! What a great short film, too, with which were introduced to this technology! One of the other reviewers here has it right, Love Me Tender has you emotionally involved from the start and the tension never lets up. This is an example of really fine filmmaking --There is a lot of talent on display, here. I expect to see the filmmakers’ names on bigger marquees in the near future. Well worth the 2 bucks.
Nice use of imagery on the app and great short film. I liked that the film isnt streaming, but already downloaded into the app. Wish it was an iPad app as well, though. The film is thrilling and even darkly comical. Id totally watch it again. Smart idea to distribute cheaply through an app.
Very cool that short films can have apps and this has got to be one of the best. A great take on a familiar genre, great look and feel with sexy talented actors, what more can you want! The app has great special features that make this a must buy. Highly recommended!
It is always refreshing to see a student fresh out of film school making quality shorts like this. Too often the media choses which movies we are going to see. This short is honest, devoid of any production company oversight, and fresh with emotion. Do yourself a favor and get this app and watch this short. You wont regret it. And you will be supporting a talented artist. Think of it this way: a beer costs $5 and lasts you 15 min. This app costs you $2 and lasts you forever and the money is going towards the arts. Make the right decision.
